The North Canyon Rattlers were the 62-59 winner over the McClintock Chargers when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. North Canyon took a 59-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of McClintock on Tuesday. North Canyon has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, North Canyon still got an impressive performance from Wyatt Mackay, who scored 27 points. Mackay scored a full 52.9% of North Canyon's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Landri Pinckney was another key contributor, scoring five points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Even though they lost, North Canyon were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
McClintock found their leader in underclassman Josh McManaway , who scored 21 points along with three steals. The contest was McManaway 's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Taimari Jones, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds.
North Canyon's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for McClintock, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Canyon will take on Paradise Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Paradise Valley is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. McClintock won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Paradise Honors at 7:00 p.m. on December 6th. Hopefully Paradise Honors focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Monday.
