The Arthur-Okaw Christian Conquering Riders had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.3 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Monday. They took down Rantoul 46-28. Given Arthur-Okaw Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 253rd, while Rantoul is ranked 614th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Arthur-Okaw Christian to victory were Addisyn Erwin and Annabelle Haskins. Erwin dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds, while Haskins scored 24 points. Erwin set a new season high mark in steals with six.
Arthur-Okaw Christian's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.6 points per game. As for Rantoul, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season.
Arthur-Okaw Christian won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Faith Bible Christian Academy/Mid-America Prep at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th. Rantoul will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Chrisman at 6:00 p.m. on December 21st.
