KIPP Bold City lost against First Coast back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The KIPP Bold City Greyhounds took a 59-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the First Coast Buccaneers. The Greyhounds' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Jabari Green and Joel Hunt certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Green went 5 for 9 on his way to 12 points and seven rebounds, while Hunt posted 13 points. Kayland Byirt was another key player, putting up four points.

Even though they lost, KIPP Bold City smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in six consecutive games.

First Coast got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Amari Walton out in front who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds. Walton also posted five blocks, which is notable because First Coast is 3-1 when he posts at least five blocks, but 2-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Christian Williams, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards.

Having lost for the first time this season, KIPP Bold City fell to 5-1. As for First Coast, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

KIPP Bold City didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-61 loss against Crossroads Christian on the 14th. First Coast will take on Englewood in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
