The biggest upset of the week belonged to Rowe, who took down 576th ranked Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial, 42-14.
The Warriors moved up to 609 from 689 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 5A Region IV District 31. Rowe climbed the ranks as a result of topping the Wolverines 42-14.
San Benito's dynamic duo of Dylan Castillo and Jacob Ledesma proved tough for McAllen to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Castillo threw for 65 yards and Ledesma had 29 yards receiving. Manuel Sanchez helped San Benito's passing attack out by catching two balls for 27 yards.
Trevor Speights was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 171 yards on 23 carries as McAllen Memorial lost to the Bulldogs. Teammate Joel Alonzo added to the ground attack by rushing for 19 yards.
Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial's Manny Mancillas and Jaime Borrego have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Mancillas has thrown for 719 yards this season, while Borrego has 22 catches for 438 yards. Speights from the Mustangs leads the league in rushing with 1068 yards.
A big matchup in 5A Region IV District 31 this week will be when Weslaco East takes on McAllen Memorial. The Wildcats are currently in second, while Bill Littleton's team is in fourth.
There should be lots of points scored when Weslaco East and the Mustangs face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Armando Cuellar's team comes in having scored 188 this season, while McAllen Memorial has scored 157. The Wildcats scored 24 points last week as they bested Weslaco.
Weslaco East extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Panthers, 24-0. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Wildcats.
