Baseball Recap: Milton Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Milton ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They won by a run and slipped past the Verona Wildcats 4-3. The win was familiar territory for the Red Hawks, who have now won three games in a row.

Jack Yohanek looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits.

At the plate, Jake Cummins was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high.

Milton's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Verona, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Milton will head out to challenge Waunakee at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Verona, they will venture away from home to square off against Madison East at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
