The Sebring Blue Streaks are taking a road trip to square off against the Martin County Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Sebring: 1.6, Martin County: 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
On Thursday, Sebring made easy work of Auburndale and carried off a 9-1 victory. The Blue Streaks haven't had any issues with the Bloodhounds recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
The team relied heavily on Nate Arnan, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. Chase Vaughn also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last game, Martin County made sure to put some runs up on the board against Treasure Coast on Wednesday. Martin County never let Treasure Coast get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. Considering the Tigers' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Martin County also got a great performance from Joseph Cuccurullo as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Furthermore, Cuccurullo didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024.
At the plate, Tanner Paskoski was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. John Thornton was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.
Sebring's record now sits at 6-3. As for Martin County, their record is now an identical 6-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Sebring has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Martin County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
