After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Northwest Area, Sullivan County was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Muncy Indians with a sharp 10-2 win. The Griffins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by seven runs or more this season.
Emilia Viveiros made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off eight hits. Viveiros was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024.
In other batting news, Mariah Hallabuk was excellent, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Amber Kelly was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Sullivan County's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games.
