Shipley's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. Their rough 60-35 loss to Friends Select might stick with them for a while. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Shipley has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Shipley lost, one person who can't be blamed is Will Littles, Jr. Despite the final result, he scored 14 points along with six rebounds. Those six rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Braelin Hardy, who scored four points along with seven rebounds.
Shipley has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season. As for Friends Select, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 1-9.
Shipley will take on Academy of the New Church at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Academy of the New Church knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten matchups -- so hopefully Shipley likes a good challenge. As for Friends Select, they will face off against Sankofa Freedom Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
