On Wednesday, Jefferson Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Eagle Ridge Academy, taking the game 3-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Jaguars.
Jefferson Academy had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-12, 26-24, 25-21.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Kent Denver, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They skirted past Eagle Ridge Academy 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Sun Devils have posted since September 7, 2024.
Kent Denver wouldn't go down easily and took Eagle Ridge Academy into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 24-26, 22-25, 25-20, 15-11.
Kent Denver's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 8-9. As for Jefferson Academy, their win bumped their record up to 8-10.
Jefferson Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against Kent Denver when the teams last played back in October of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Jaguars since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
