Moundridge is 9-0 against Sedgwick since February of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Moundridge Wildcats will head out on the road to take on the Sedgwick Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Moundridge has five straight victories, Sedgwick has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Moundridge put the finishing touches on their eighth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Trinity 63-27 at home. Given Moundridge's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 66th, while Trinity is ranked 262nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Moundridge's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cammi Unruh, who scored 20 points along with five steals. Unruh has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last 11 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Addy Patrick, who scored 17 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Sedgwick had to suffer through a rough 61-19 loss at the hands of Inman.
Moundridge has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for Sedgwick, they dropped their record down to 2-12-2 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Moundridge came out on top in a nail-biter against Sedgwick in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, sneaking past 52-50. The rematch might be a little tougher for Moundridge since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
