West Shamokin has gone a perfect 3-0 against Conemaugh Valley recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Wolves will be playing in front of their home fans against the Blue Jays at 4:30 p.m. Both teams are still undefeated (West Shamokin has ten wins , while Conemaugh Valley has nine).
If West Shamokin beats Conemaugh Valley with nine runs on Thursday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Wolves walked away with a 9-4 win over Portage on Tuesday.
Leah Mondi made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 12 batters over six innings while giving up four earned runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base.

In other batting news, West Shamokin let Cameron Vandervort and Abbi Kimmel run wild. Vandervort went 3-for-4 with one home run and five RBI, while Kimmel went 2-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those five RBI gave Vandervort a new career-high. Avery Elkin was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
West Shamokin hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Conemaugh Valley hadn't done well against Marion Center recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Blue Jays came out on top in a nail-biter against the Stingers, sneaking past 6-5.
Conemaugh Valley's victory bumped their record up to 9-0. As for West Shamokin, their win bumped their record up to 10-0.
West Shamokin was able to grind out a solid victory over Conemaugh Valley in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, winning 5-1. Do the Wolves have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blue Jays turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
