The Triton Central Tigers will venture away from home to take on the Tri-West Hendricks Bruins at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Triton Central will be strutting in after a win while Tri-West Hendricks will be coming in after a defeat.
Triton Central will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs last Thursday, then bounced right back against Warren Central on Wednesday. The Tigers blew past the Warriors 24-8.
Lillian Fillippinie was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Fillippinie was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-6 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Jalynn Keith was a standout: she scored four runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-5. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Schaadt, who scored four runs while going 2-for-4.
Triton Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Warren Central only managed nine hits.
Meanwhile, Tri-West Hendricks fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Speedway on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 7-3 to the Sparkplugs.
Like Triton Central, Tri-West Hendricks also got a great game from a two-way player: Adelyn Lengerich. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over six innings pitched. Lengerich has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.
In other pitching news, Tri-West Hendricks got a good showing from Natalie Tharp, who tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.
Back at the plate, Peyton Norman and Sophie White stepped up to the plate in a big way. Norman scored two runs while getting on base in three of her six plate appearances, while White went 3-for-6 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Savannah Neal was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her five plate appearances.
The victory got Triton Central back to even at 1-1. As for Tri-West Hendricks, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-2.
