Elmwood/Brimfield (Elmwood, Ill.) extended its winning streak to 10 games with a 34-14 victory over
St. Thomas More (Champaign, Ill.) on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run in the first quarter, the Trojans led 21-0 at the half.
Both teams scored six points in the third quarter, so the margin remained at 21 entering the fourth.
Strom Joop played well for the Sabers. The junior quarterback threw two touchdowns. His performance brought his touchdown total to six on the year.
Elmwood/Brimfield had given up an average of 12.8 points prior to the contest. St. Thomas More's 14 points were well below its season average of 22.1 per game.
The loss comes after St. Thomas More defeated Rantoul 48-6 last week. The loss snapped STM's 3-game winning streak.
