The Tenaha Tigers will be playing at home against the Cushing Bearkats at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Tenaha had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They beat Alto by the very same score they won with last week: 55-20. The result was nothing new for Tenaha, who have now won three contests by 21 points or more so far this season.
Tenaha's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kamarion Ross led the charge by picking up 108 receiving yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Brikelian Kenney, who rushed for eight yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Cushing was just a hair shy of victory on Friday and fell 49-48 to Carlisle. Cushing has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Tenaha's win lifted them to 6-2 while Cushing's loss dropped them down to 3-4.
Tenaha couldn't quite finish off Cushing in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 and fell 23-20. Will Tenaha have more luck at home instead of on the road?
