Football Recap: Parrish Community Piles Up the Points Against Gateway

Parrish Community entered their tilt with Gateway on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Eagles, posting a 46-7 victory. The Bulls might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by 34 points or more this season.

Parrish Community's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jacoby Thomas, who rushed for 40 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also caught one TD. Brycen Volz was another key passer, throwing for 149 yards and one TD.

Parrish Community's run defense was locked in: Gateway could only muster 1.7 yards per carry. While two picked up at least eight total tackles, Kaleb Exume stood above the rest. He forced one fumble and made eight total tackles (5.0 for loss). Parrish Community's run defense has been on the up-and-up: they allowed 3.78 yards per carry earlier this season, but they've only allowed 4.97 on average over their last three games.

Parrish Community didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Connor Post and Jake Bendana. Post also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with six. Parrish Community got some further help from Exume: he forced one fumble and made eight total tackles (5.0 for loss).

Parrish Community's record now sits at 6-1. As for Gateway, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.

Parrish Community didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 14-6 win against Lennard on the 17th. As for Gateway, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 36-14 loss against Lakewood Ranch on the 17th.
