There's no place like home for the Layton Christian Academy Eagles, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They walked away with a 37-30 win over Bear River on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Layton Christian Academy also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2021.
Layton Christian Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jessica McKain out in front who scored 8 points along with 4 steals. Sofia Saez was another key contributor, scoring 6 points along with 8 rebounds.
Despite the loss, Bear River had strong showings from Saydee Pebley, who scored 5 points along with 7 rebounds, and Shelby Wilkinson, who scored 5 points along with 7 rebounds and 5 steals.
Layton Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Bear River, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Layton Christian Academy will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Draper APA at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Draper APA focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Tuesday. As for Bear River, they will square off against Weber at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
