It was a good run, but The Cypress Centurions unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They took a serious blow against Tustin, falling 49-17. Cypress was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Tustin apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2022.
Tustin's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Eimesse Essis led the charge by rushing for 135 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. Essis hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for three straight games. MacKenzie Alleyne and his 104 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Tustin's win.
Cypress' loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Tustin, their victory was their fifth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 10-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cypress will take on Rio Mesa at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Tustin, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Warren at 7:00 p.m. Warren is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
