Quinn Freakley was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Addison Dent was incredible, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Ava O'Shaughnessy-Tong was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Peninsula Catholic is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Hampton Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.
Friday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Hampton Christian Academy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .439. However, it's not like Peninsula Catholic struggles in that department as they've averaged .479. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
