The Hadley Luzerne Eagles can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They came out on top against Fort Ann by a score of 46-34. The victory was just what Hadley Luzerne needed coming off of a 74-47 defeat in their prior matchup.
Fort Ann's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Kadynce Cutter, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 20 rebounds, and Javier Hernandez who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. Cutter has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last six times he's played.
Even though they lost, Fort Ann smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. This was only their tenth loss (out of 13 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.
Hadley Luzerne's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-15. As for Fort Ann, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season.
Hadley Luzerne will head out on the road to challenge Hartford Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in New York (Hartford Central is ranked 738th, while Hadley Luzerne is ranked 736th). As for Fort Ann, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Salem at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Salem is coming into the match with six straight defeats on the road, meaning Fort Ann will have to defend against a team hungry for a win.
