The Skyline Prep Bengals's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight defeat. They were outmatched by Imagine Prep at home and fell 77-33. While losing is never fun, Skyline Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 211th, while the Storm are ranked 14th).
Imagine Prep's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Richard Rodriguez, who scored 21 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rodriguez has scored all season. Brady Heuseveldt was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 15 rebounds.
Skyline Prep has not been sharp recently as the team's lost 12 of their last 13 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-18 record this season. As for Imagine Prep, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 18-2.
Skyline Prep will head out on the road to square off against the Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Learning Foundation & Performing Arts will be looking to keep their 11-game home win streak alive. Imagine Prep will take on the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
