Carroll's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Braedon Gomez, who scored 18 points along with two steals, and Boston Hills who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds. Gomez is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games he's played. Another player making a difference was Daniel Sanchez, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cj Perry led the charge by scoring 16 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of CJ Vela, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Carroll's defeat dropped their record down to 14-7. As for Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-8.
Carroll will be playing at home against King at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. King is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial, they will head out on the road to face off against Flour Bluff at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Flour Bluff's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven matches.
