Arcadia is 10-0 against Chincoteague since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Arcadia Firebirds are taking a road trip to face off against the Chincoteague Ponies at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Arcadia's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six contests.
Arcadia is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their game on Tuesday with ease, bagging an 82-46 victory over Nandua. The Firebirds have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Jordan Cropper continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in assists (six). Another player making a difference was Tyrell Wise, who posted 15 points and five boards.
Arcadia smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in six consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Chincoteague made easy work of Holly Grove Christian on Wednesday and carried off a 52-28 win. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Ponies' disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 398th in Virginia, while the Eagles are ranked 59th in Maryland).
Arcadia better keep an eye on Byron Hurst. He was instrumental in Chincoteague's win, putting up ten points and seven assists. Matthew Taylor was another key player, posting six points and three blocks.
Chincoteague's record now sits at 4-8. As for Arcadia, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Arcadia has been crashing the rebounds this season, having averaged 31.3 boards per game. However, it's not like Chincoteague struggles in that department as they've been averaging 33 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Everything came up roses for Arcadia against Chincoteague in their previous matchup last Tuesday, as the team secured a 74-41 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Arcadia since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
