The St. Joseph Cadets will head out on the road to face off against the Masuk Panthers at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully St. Joseph focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Tuesday.
St. Joseph's recent rough patch got a bit rougher after their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a serious blow against Notre Dame Catholic, falling 76-49. St. Joseph was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-24.
St. Joseph's loss came about despite a quality game from TJ Wright, who scored 24 points. Chase Bryant was another key contributor, scoring three points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Masuk earned a 51-44 victory over Shelton on Wednesday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Masuk.
St. Joseph bumped their record down to 0-1 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Masuk, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
St. Joseph came out on top in a nail-biter against Masuk when the teams last played back in February, sneaking past 78-76. The rematch might be a little tougher for St. Joseph since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
