Softball Recap: Stuttgart Takes a Loss

Stuttgart managed to slip by Warren the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Stuttgart Ricebirds lost 26-9 to the Warren Lumberjacks on Thursday. Even though they lost, the Ricebirds' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.2 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

E'Naija Wright made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those hits marked the first that she got this season. Another player making a difference was Kaci Cline, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Even though they lost, Stuttgart was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

This is the second loss in a row for Stuttgart and nudges their season record down to 1-4. As for Warren, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stuttgart will take on Heber Springs at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Warren, they will face off against Drew Central at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
