Temple Christian hasn't had much luck against Perry recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Pioneers will host the Commodores at 5:00 p.m. Temple Christian has given up an average of 10.1 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Temple Christian lost 12-2 to Waynesfield-Goshen on Monday.
Temple Christian saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Levi Williams, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. That RBI was Williams' first of the season. Another was Mason Lesko, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases.
Meanwhile, Perry made easy work of Ridgemont on Monday and carried off an 8-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Commodores, who have now won five matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.
Colten Scott was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over 4.2 innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Perry is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-4 otherwise. Scott was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Marshall Capps, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Brodey Douce was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Perry has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Temple Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Temple Christian has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Perry struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Temple Christian suffered a grim 11-1 defeat to Perry in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Will the Pioneers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
