It was a good run, but the Polo Marcos unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of Scales Mound by a score of 64-61. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Thursday (60), Polo still had to take the loss.
Scales Mound's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Thomas Hereau led the charge by scoring 22 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Derrick Distler, who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 22 points and 1 assist.
Polo's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Scales Mound, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.
Polo will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Amboy at 7:30 p.m. As for Scales Mound, they will head out on the road to face off against River Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
