Camden County's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aaliyah Anderson, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 17 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Amaya Demps, who scored 7 points along with 7 rebounds.
Gates County found their leader in underclassman London Barber, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 10 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Barber has scored at least 25% of Gates County's points. Semiyah Saunders was another key contributor, scoring 6 points along with 8 rebounds and 6 steals.
Camden County's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Gates County, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Camden County will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Gates County at 6:00 p.m. on December 8th. As for Gates County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Holmes at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Holmes presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Gates County in North Carolina (Holmes is ranked 52nd, while Gates County is ranked 210th).
