The Saranac Redhawks had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They strolled past Lansing Christian with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 60-41. Saranac pushed the score to 54-30 by the end of the third, a deficit the Pilgrims cut but never quite recovered from.
Lansing Christian's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Ethan Damesworth, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 rebounds, and David Hall who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. It was the first time this season that Damesworth pulled down eight or more rebounds.
Saranac's victory bumped their record up to 4-10. As for Lansing Christian, their loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-13.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Saranac will take on the Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pewamo-Westphalia presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Redhawks in Michigan (the Pirates are ranked 80th, while the Redhawks are ranked 616th). As for Lansing Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against the Fighting Bees at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
