Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Indian Rocks Christian walked away with it. They walked away with a 13-8 victory over the Lions on Monday. The win was familiar territory for the Eagles, who have now won three contests in a row.
Scarlett Eames was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and three unearned) runs off 12 hits. Shorecrest Prep's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-6. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Indian Rocks Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 6-18.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Shorecrest Prep has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .451. However, it's not like Indian Rocks Christian struggles in that department as they've averaged .785. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Shorecrest Prep took their win against Indian Rocks Christian in their previous meeting back in May of 2022 by a conclusive 12-4 score. Will the Chargers repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
