After a string of four wins, the Sabinal Yellowjackets's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. Their tough 30-9 defeat to Utopia might stick with them for a while. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Sabinal has scored all season.
Utopia found their leader in underclassman Kinsley Cox, who scored nine points along with ten rebounds and four steals. Cox also pulled down eight+ rebounds for the first time this season. Morgan Rhodes was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 11 steals.
Sabinal's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Utopia, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sabinal will take on D'Hanis at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. D'Hanis' defense has only allowed 28.4 points per game this season, so Sabinal's offense will have their work cut out for Sabinal. Utopia will be home for the holidays to greet Medina at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
