The Lake Marion Gators had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They were the clear victor by a 41-20 margin over Swansea. Lake Marion has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 21 points or more this season.
Danasia Wright was her usual excellent self, scoring 14 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. She has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Zania Holman, who scored seven points along with ten rebounds.
Lake Marion's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Swansea, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake Marion will face off against Academic Magnet at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Academic Magnet focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Saturday. As for Swansea, they will head out on the road to face off against Orangeburg-Wilkinson at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. Orangeburg-Wilkinson will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
