Baseball Recap: Alexander Christian Academy Extends Winning Streak to Eight

Alexander Christian Academy put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Sheets Memorial Christian Eagles. The Crusaders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by six runs or more this season.

Peighton Harrington was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 5.1 strikeouts per game. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Micah Gettler, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. Gettler is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

Alexander Christian Academy's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-0. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 11.9 runs this season. As for Sheets Memorial Christian, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-3.

Alexander Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 11-6 win against Covenant Classical on the 22nd. As for Sheets Memorial Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 18-6 victory against Shining Light Academy on the 22nd.
