The Harker Heights Knights will head out on the road to square off against the Weiss Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Friday, Harker Heights came up short against Bryan and fell 53-42. While losing is never fun, Harker Heights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 305th, while Bryan is ranked 81st).
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Weiss, who are still winless after their 21st contest. They were dealt a 63-36 defeat at the hands of Hutto on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Weiss has suffered since November 20, 2023.
Serese Williams put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored five points along with 12 rebounds. Tamara Dilworth was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Harker Heights' defeat dropped their record down to 17-11. As for Weiss, they bumped their record down to 0-21 with that loss, which was their seventh straight at home.
Harker Heights took their win against Weiss in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 76-53. The rematch might be a little tougher for Harker Heights since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
