The biggest upset of the week belonged to Watsonville, who took down 775th ranked North Salinas, 65-50.
Michael Turner and Joseph Jakubowsky provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Monte Vista Christian. The connection was good for 89 yards, the longest such play in Monterey Bay - Pacific this season.
Seaside's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Turner threw for 221 and one touchdown and Jakubowsky had 113 yards receiving. On the ground Turner chipped in 26 yards. Ronald Turner helped Seaside's passing attack out by catching two balls for 58 yards.
The Spartans' Turner and Jakubowsky have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Turner has thrown for 1324 yards this season, while Jakubowsky, a 5-foot-8 receiver, has 22 catches for 397 yards. The Mustangs' Hugo Renteria leads the league in rushing yards with 415.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Alisal takes on North Monterey County. The Trojans are currently in third, while the Condors are in fourth.
Seaside extended the longest winning streak in Monterey Bay - Pacific this week by beating Monte Vista Christian, 12-7. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
