It was another big night for Jordyn Washington, who threw for 213 yards and five touchdowns, and also rushed for 71 yards and a touchdown on only six carries. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in rushing yards. Makayla Heinke also helped with two touchdowns in total.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Columbine's defense and their six sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Reese Horn and Chloe Johnson, who racked up all six sacks between them.
Meanwhile, in a tight game that could have gone either way, Pomona made off with a 19-18 victory over Dakota Ridge.
Pomona didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Audri Mondragon. She also snagged two interceptions, which is notable because Pomona is 2-1 when she posts at least one interception, but 4-7 otherwise.
The win got Columbine back to even at 7-7. As for Pomona, their record is now 6-8.
