AAAA Region VI recap November 5, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in AAAA Region VI this week, South Florence beat Stratford 26-14. The victory was the 10th in a row for the Bruins.
South Florence's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Nick Jones threw for 255 and 2 touchdowns and Tabari Hines had 118 yards receiving. On the ground Rodney Brunson chipped in 109 yards. David Vereen helped South Florence's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 55 yards.
He went 13-32 with 2 interceptions.
Hines was the best wideout in the league this week as David Prince's team beat the Knights. Hines racked up 4 receptions for 118 yards. Vereen helped South Florence's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 55 yards.
South Florence's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Bruins feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Jones has thrown for 2,113 yards and 30 touchdowns this season, while Hines has 46 catches for 760 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place South Florence takes on second place West Florence. The Bruins defeated Stratford last week, while West Florence beat Carolina Forest.
The Knights made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,862 from 4,036. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 59-35 victory over the Panthers last week.
