Chattahoochee extended their losing streak  to five  on Friday, dropping them down to 1-7. They were dealt  a  55-3 loss at the hands of the Gainesville Red Elephants. As for Gainesville, the  win was  the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-1. Those  victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 49.6 points over those games.
 This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to  NIGEL NEWKIRK and  DWIGHT LEWIS. NEWKIRK rushed for 103 yards and three  scores on only six carries while  LEWIS rushed for 97 yards and a pair of  touchdowns on only 11 carries. NEWKIRK's rushing production has been exceptional  recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 103  rushing yards. Another player making a difference was  KHARIM HUGHLEY, who threw for 151 yards and a pair of  TDs while completing 75% of his passes.
 We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Chattahoochee will  take on  rival Seckinger  at 7:30  p.m.  on Friday. Meanwhile, Gainesville is set to  challenge  their familiar foe Roswell  at 7:30  p.m.  on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 1,106 yards in their previous games.
