After two games on the road, King is heading back home. They will take on The Lakewood Lancers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
Last Thursday, things could have been worse for King, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 31-14 loss to Murrieta Mesa.
Although King took the loss, they still got scores from Blake Bowen and Max Hensche.
Lakewood fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They breezed by Compton on the road to the tune of 42-7. With Lakewood ahead 21-0 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Lakewood found their leader in underclassman Kade Casillas, who threw for 315 yards and a touchdown while completing 77.8% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Holt, who rushed for 51 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries.
King's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Lakewood, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 5-5 record this season.
