Jaylee Garza-2029 was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over 6.2 innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Klein Oak, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over Klein Cain on Tuesday. Considering the Panthers have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Like Klein Forest, Klein Oak also got a great game from a two-way player: Reagan Eldred. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Eldred was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, Klein Oak let Morgan Sanchez and Sky Gonzalez run wild. Sanchez went 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double, while Gonzalez went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Maddie Hall, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Klein Oak was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Klein Cain only posted a batting average of .125.
Klein Oak's win bumped their record up to 17-6. As for Klein Forest, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Klein Forest has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Klein Oak struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
