Make it eight blowout wins for the McConnellsburg Spartans this season. They blew past Fannett Metal 71-44 on the road on Friday. Winning may never get old, but McConnellsburg sure is getting used to it with their tenth in a row.
McConnellsburg's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Shaffer Earley led the charge by scoring 17 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Earley has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kade Gress, who scored 15 points.
McConnellsburg's win was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.6 points per game. As for Fannett Metal, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-8.
McConnellsburg will take on the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Everett will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 602nd, while the Spartans are ranked 271st). As for Fannett Metal, they will head out on the road to challenge the Rockets at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.
