Lamar entered their tilt with Atlas Preparatory School on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Gryphons with a sharp 3-0 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Thunder also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Lamar took every set by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-3, 25-7, 25-15.

Mireya Gomez paced Lamar's offense, picking up seven kills. Gomez got some help from Abygail Gonzales and her 18 assists. Kali Gonzales controlled things from the service line, finishing with seven aces.

Lamar's victory bumped their record up to 15-7. As for Atlas Preparatory School, they are on a 39-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-19.

Coming up, after both having extra time off, Lamar and Pueblo County will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Atlas Preparatory School, they will take on The Vanguard School at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
