Basketball Recap: Benbrook Drops Season-High Score on Carter-Riverside

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Benbrook). They blew past the Carter-Riverside Eagles 78-25 on Tuesday. With the Bobcats ahead 35-15 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Benbrook's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brennan Barton, who went 7 for 13 on his way to 18 points and four steals. Barton continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Jayden Hall was another key player, going 5 of 8 on his way to 10 points and three steals.

Benbrook was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Carter-Riverside lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Malclom Cook, who posted eight points. That's the most points Cook has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Robert Rodriguez, who had ten points and four steals.

Benbrook now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Carter-Riverside, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Dunbar the next time they take the court. Benbrook will head out to face Dunbar at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Carter-Riverside will host them at 7:30 p.m. on January 14th.
