The Midland Classical Academy Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 54-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pantego Christian. Midland Classical Academy has not had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Pantego Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aj Brooks, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Brooks is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamerson Green, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Midland Classical Academy dropped their record down to 7-22 with that loss, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Pantego Christian, the win got them back to even at 15-15.
Midland Classical Academy and the Lions will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Trinity Christian is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last nine games. As for Pantego Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cougars at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Covenant Christian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Panthers in Texas (the Cougars are ranked 160th, while the Panthers are ranked 723rd).
