Baseball Game Preview: Kiel Raiders vs. Sheboygan Falls Falcons

For the second straight game, Kiel will face off against Sheboygan Falls. The Raiders will head out to face off against the Falcons at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Kiel has five straight wins, Sheboygan Falls has 29 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Kiel is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 21-1 margin over Sheboygan Falls on Tuesday. Considering the Raiders have won four games by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Hunter Pitzen made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three runs and one RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Owen Schmit, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs, two RBI, and one double. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Edward LeMieux, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs.

Kiel always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .564. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sheboygan Falls only posted an OBP of .263.

Kiel's record now sits at 6-1. As for Sheboygan Falls, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.
