Chicago Hope Academy will challenge the Chicago Christian Knights at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Chicago Hope Academy has three straight victories, Chicago Christian has 12 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Chicago Hope Academy not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 11th (when they won 21-1). They blew past Cristo Rey Jesuit 16-1. Considering Chicago Hope Academy has won six matches by more than 11 runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Andi Medina was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.

In other batting news, Chicago Hope Academy got a massive performance out of Emma Lopez, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those three runs gave Lopez a new career-high. Lina Wilson was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.
Chicago Hope Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive contests.
Chicago Christian couldn't beat Chicago Hope Academy on Monday even though they stacked six runs on them in the second inning. The Knights took a 12-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of Chicago Hope Academy. Even though they lost, the Knights' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.2 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Delaney Cole stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Abby Moro, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Chicago Hope Academy now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Chicago Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-13.
Chicago Christian's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Chicago Hope Academy has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.9 hits per game. It's a different story for Chicago Christian, though, as they've been averaging 13.5 hits. Given Chicago Hope Academy's sizable advantage in that area, Chicago Christian will need to find a way to close that gap.
