The biggest upset of the week belonged to Westwind Prep Academy, who took down 168th ranked South Pointe, 22-20. Nick Galaviz threw for 91 yards and one touchdown and ran for 100 yards in the win.
Kingman Academy extended the longest winning streak in Charter 4A this week by beating Peoria Accelerated, 36-6. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Tigers.
The Warriors' Galaviz and Jesus Vargas have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Galaviz has thrown for 1009 yards this season, while Vargas, a 5-foot-10 receiver, has 39 catches for 664 yards. Kingman Academy's Jake Miner leads the league in rushing yards with 443.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Bill McCord's team takes on American Leadership Academy. At the moment, the Tigers are in first, while American Leadership Academy is in fifth.
