Naperville North and Naperville Central are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2022, but likely not for long. The Huskies will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against the Redhawks at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Naperville North is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Addison Trail a 15-0 shutout on Saturday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Huskies considering their one-run performance the game before.

Alex Yaeger was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Wade, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
Naperville North always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .593. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Naperville Central, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They skirted past Neuqua Valley 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Redhawks have posted since May 14, 2024.
Avery Miller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Naperville Central's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Cali Lenz, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
Naperville Central pushed their record up to 16-12 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Naperville North, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-17 record this season.
Naperville North came out on top in a nail-biter against Naperville Central when the teams last played two weeks ago, sneaking past 9-7. Do the Huskies have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Redhawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
