The Morgan Huskies will head out on the road to face off against the East Lyme Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Morgan has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 267 points over their last four matches.
In what's become a running theme this season, Morgan gave their fans yet another huge win on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 61-41 margin over Valley Regional. Given Morgan's advantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 50th, while Valley Regional is ranked 162nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, East Lyme made easy work of Amistad on Monday and carried off a 53-33 victory. The victory was just what East Lyme needed coming off of a 73-43 defeat in their prior matchup.
Morgan's win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.1 points per game. As for East Lyme, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.
Morgan came up short against East Lyme in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, falling 70-59. Can Morgan avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
