Softball Recap: Chester Wins Going Away Against Princeton

Chester won the last time they faced Princeton and things went their way on Thursday too. The Volcanoes put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 12-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Volcanoes, who have now won 13 matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

Jenna Schlueter and Addisen Nashlund did most of the damage at the plate: Schlueter went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Nashlund went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most RBI Nashlund has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailey Delong, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Chester always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Princeton only posted an OBP of .364.

The victory made it two in a row for Chester and bumps their season record up to 16-9. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.5 runs over those games. As for Princeton, their loss dropped their record down to 13-7-1.

As of now, neither Chester nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
