The Deerfield Spartans won the last time they faced the Rolla Pirates, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Deerfield walked away with a 45-36 victory over Rolla. The win made it back-to-back wins for Deerfield.
Leading Deerfield to victory were Colten Musil and Michael Lira. Musil scored 15 points along with three steals, while Lira scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Maverick Najera was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Deerfield's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Rolla, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.
Deerfield and Elkhart will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 25th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Elkhart is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Rolla, they will head out on the road to face off against Moscow on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Kansas (Moscow is ranked 357th, while Rolla is ranked 352nd).
